He lied to keep the peace. He couldn’t face the truth; he couldn’t come to terms with any of it, not even for the sake of us or of me. He had fallen in love with someone else and he had no idea how to break it down. So he lied and said it wasn’t true. He made me believe that my intuition was wrong even though he knew.
He knew that I knew.
